When it triggers

Frenzy can break out at any moment from level 8, at most once per level.

• It's random: with balls in play there is roughly a 1.2% chance per second.
• It never happens on boss levels.
• In endless mode it becomes available again every 3 paces.
• The "FRENZY MODE!!" banner announces it.

What happens during frenzy

For 10 seconds the table fills with balls and everything in your way disappears.

• 3 extra balls come in, up to a cap of 14.
• Every hit, yours or the CPU's, splits the ball into 3 and scores 10 points.
• Drones, shots, lasers and meteors are wiped, and no new threats or power-ups appear.
• Blocks hide and the ball passes through them.
• You can't lose lives: goals don't count for anyone, so they don't bring you closer to clearing the level either.
• The clock freezes.

When it ends

When it ends, 3 balls stay in play and the rest explode for points.

• Each leftover ball explodes for 50 points.
• The clock is left with at least 15 s.
• "FRENZY OVER" shows up and the level's threats come back.

How to make the most of it

To get the most out of it, hit every ball you can.

1. Hit everything. Each hit scores 10 points and triples the ball: more balls mean more 50-point explosions at the end.
2. Forget about your goal. Goals don't cost you lives, so you can take risks.
3. Use ×2. If double points are active when it starts, everything you score is worth double.
4. Get ready for the end. 3 balls remain and the drones and meteors come back.
